This 4-week camp (with a gap week for Thanksgiving) is geared toward helping young athletes not only develop their fundamentals, but also take their skills to the next level. Each camper will have the opportunity for instruction from members of the Blue Devil Softball Staff and current athletes to improve both her throwing mechanics, arm strength and velocity, as well as her position specific defensive skill sets using drills that our student-athletes use to train each day. The position specific defensive side of the camp will cover infield glove work, base foot work, angles, outfield work, and catcher’s positional work. Due the 4-week camp, campers who play multiple positions can choose which position they’d like to work on each day. The explosive throwing portion will teach each camper the correct fundamentals to developing a strong, accurate and efficient throw while developing the fundamentals for the different types of throws from all areas of the field.
Camp Structure will include:
Campers should bring their own equipment (water bottle, glove, gym shoes, facemask (if used), pants, and knee pads (if needed).
UW-Stout will not provide equipment such as catchers gear, gloves, bats and helmets.

Our Intro to Pitching Camp will focus on the basic fundamentals needed to pitch a softball. Athletes will progress through a series of workouts within our four-week camp. Each workout will add a different skill. Athletes will learn a basic warm up, basic mechanics, and the difference between a fastball and a change-up. The goal by the end of this camp is to provide beginning pitchers with the confidence, skills, and tools to pitch on their own time.
If possible, please bring a catcher. We will have water to refill water bottles.
